Abstrakt
In 2008 an ancient battlefield between a Roman army and German groups was discovered in a forest near Northeim, Lower Saxony. From then onwards the battle was investigated by a team of archaeologists, geographers and historians. It is part of a revenge campaign of the emperor Maximinus Thrax that took place in 235 AD. In the lecture the results of the research will be presented, including a model of the activities that took place within a couple of hours and that can be reconstructed by analyzing the finds and their distribution.
