We invite you to the exhibition that presents the most important discoveries related to excavations carried out in Europe by researchers from the Faculty of Archaeology, University of Warsaw.
Since the establishment of the first archaeological research unit at the University of Warsaw in 1919, archaeologists employed at the University have conducted excavations of over 300 archaeological sites in Poland and about 150 sites around the world (several dozen in Europe).
The exhibition will only present some excavation research, mainly those from the last 30 years. The results of this research have had a significant impact on the development of archeology and our understanding of Europe’s past.
Archaeologists from the University of Warsaw have significantly contributed to saving many monuments from oblivion, some of which have been entered on the UNESCO World Heritage List or on the National Register of Archaeological Monuments.
The exhibition is co-organized with the Museum of the University of Warsaw.
The exhibition (in English) will be available online from June 18.
