Welcome Days 2025 at the University of Warsaw! – Welcome Point

WELCOME DAYS

We are inviting all new international long-term students to a special orientation events designed to help you start your journey as a member of the UW community.

During this event, you will:

  • Get to know UW, learn how the University works, and what’s around you
  • Discover the numerous opportunities UW offers & find out about activities you can join
  • Get all the important tips and guidelines to start smoothly
  • Understand what life at UW is really like and how to make the most of it
  • Get useful insights about Warsaw city you’ve never heard before

When?

You have the option to attend one of the two sessions:

  • Meeting in English: September 26th (Friday), start at 11:00 a.m.

Women’s Perspectives in the Nile Valley

Dear Colleagues,
On behalf of the Organising Committee of the conference “Women’s Perspectives in the Nile Valley”, I am delighted to announce that the programme and the book of abstracts are now available online: https://www.archeologia.uw.edu.pl/en/womens-perspectives-in-the-nile-valley-call-for-papers/
The conference, organised by the Faculty of Archaeology, University of Warsaw, and the Institute of Mediterranean and Oriental Cultures, Polish Academy of Sciences, will take place from 25th to 27th June 2025 in Warsaw (FA UW). The event focuses on female experiences and perspectives in ancient Egypt and Nubia, addressing divine, royal, elite, and non-elite spheres. It also explores the history of exploration and the role of women in the study of the ancient Nile Valley.
We warmly invite you to participate in this event, which is open to all.

Special announcement

We publish an announcement by Prof. Alojzy Z. Nowak, the UW Rector, about the Rector’s Day on 19th May:
In order to make it possible to attend a final farewell to our murdered Colleague Małgosia, I declare Monday, 19th May 2025 a Rector’s Day – no teaching or work at the University of Warsaw.

The Day of Mourning

In accordance with the decision of Prof. Alojzy Z. Nowak, Rector of the University of Warsaw, May 8 is the Day of Mourning. Therefore, on May 8 all classes are canceled and the building will be closed.

We are all touched by this terrible tragedy.

Registration for certification exams.

Dear Students,

Registration for certification exams in the summer session has begun.

Registration for revision courses ends on May 22, 2025, and registration for exams ends on May 26, 2025. Registration will not be possible after this date.

At the same time, I would like to remind you that our examination offer includes specialist English exams (Legal English and Business English) at level B2. Passing these exams allows students to fulfill the statutory obligation to demonstrate language proficiency at level B2.

Additional connections deadline for subjects taken in the summer semester 2024L

Dear Students,
I kindly inform you that by the decision of the Vice-Rector for student affairs and quality of education, Dr. Hab. Maciej Raś, prof. student from February 17 to March 11, 2025, students will be able to connect courses taken in the summer semester of the 2024/2025 academic year to USOSweb.
