2nd Edition of the Student’s Minigrant Competition at FA UW

We announce the call for applications in the 2nd edition of the Student Minigrant Competition at the University of Warsaw in the academic year 2021/2022. The next stages of the competition will be announced gradually. The application should be submitted in electronic form with attachments by sending it from an account in the student.uw.edu.pl domain to the following address: wa.studia@uw.edu.pl with the heading “Minigrant Student Competition WA UW 2”. The epidemic situation and the examination session

Dear Students,

Due to the repeated questions, I would like to kindly inform you that in accordance with the university regulations, in the case of lectures ending with an exam in accordance with the study program, they can be organized remotely only at the previously expressed request of the examiner. The list of exams conducted remotely and the tools with which they will be conducted has been published in the form of the EUH ordinance and will be visible after data migration (probably tomorrow there will be an announcement on this matter on the FA UW website).

In the case of obtaining credits, the decision on the method of conducting the credit depends entirely on the teacher, his arrangements with the students and enrollment in the subject syllabus.

Please note, however, that the tutor is responsible for conducting both exams and credits in a form that excludes unethical obtaining of credits (cheating). This, in turn, is usually much simpler during the stationary testing, hence the lecturers have the right to stick to this form of checking the results.

I would also like to remind you that a referral to quarantine, automatic until the results of the COVID-19 test are obtained, is tantamount to sick leave, the same is the case with referral to isolation in case of a positive test result. Your absence on the final grading test should be easily excused on the basis of a referral by the Sanepid for quarantine or isolation. In this case, you should establish with the tutors the new dates of credits after the end of the sick leave period (of course, during the examination session or re-sit session). Also in the case of the exam, additional exam date will be set in accordance with the Study Regulations on the basis of a sick leave/quarantine referral/isolation referral presented to EUH by the end of the sick leave period (paragraph 37 section 7 RS).

Return to the on premises teaching

Dear Students, Dear Colleagues,

In connection with emerging inquiries, I would like to remind you that we are returning to classes conducted on the faculty premises from January 10, 2022. Of course, if new ordinances are issued at the national or university level, this situation may change. I would also like to inform you that according to the information from the Rector’s Office, the level of reported infections among the academic community in the week of December 20, 2021 – January 2, 2022 remains at a very low level (31 reported infections among members of the academic community throughout the university).

Reporting the infection by SARS-COV-2 virus or quarantine

Dear Students,

 

Due to the growing number of infections with the SARS-COV-2 virus, I would like to remind you that the University of Warsaw has regulations regarding the proper conduct in the event of detection of an infection. Detailed information can be found at https://en.uw.edu.pl/the-university-of-warsaw-announcements-on-coronavirus-sars-cov-2/. For details in English incl. regarding the functioning of student dormitories (dormitories) you can contact also university’s Welcome Point (https://welcome.uw.edu.pl/).

I would also like to remind you that, according to the regulations, if you are infected (with a positive test result) or you are sent to quarantine due to close contact with an infected person (quarantine according to the regulations does not apply to fully vaccinated persons), you are obliged to inform a student’s affairs office (respectively: r.kamińska@uw.edu.pl or ji.chomicz@uw.edu.pl) and acting Vice-Dean for Student Affairs (wa.student@uw.edu.pl) about the situation.

The notification should contain the following information:

  1. Name and surname
  2. Field, degree and year of studies
  3. Information about what the report concerns (positive COVID test with an annotation whether a home test or one in diagnostic point was performed; or quarantine)
  4. Date of the last day of stay at the Faculty of Archeology. If after this date you participated in classes in other buildings at the university, please also provide such information.

I would like to remind you that it is not enough to report your absence to the lecturers who conduct your classes – cases of SARS-COV-2 infection require compliance with the national regulations in force during the pandemic.

Office hours of the Deputy Vice-Dean for the Students Affairs

Dear Students,

I would like to apologise for the late announcement, there were some organisational difficulties. As you were already informed from the 1st of September I was appointed a Deputy Vice-Dean for the Students Affairs.  The contact info and the information about office hours have been updated on the Faculty authorities webpage, but I’m attaching them below as well.
