The finds of the Roman Period, which were excavated before the Second World War in Masuria, Sambia and the Memel region, show the typical range of grave goods from the Roman Period.
Among the remains of the former Prussia collection from Königsberg preserved at the Museum for Pre- and Early History in Berlin, however, there are also some unusual finds and features that stand out from the mass of typologically defined objects. These include unusual jewelry and equipment as well as objects that have been repaired or recycled and have thus undergone major changes in appearance. This presentation introduces some unknown or forgotten unusual “specialities” and “curiosities” of the Prussian Collection in Berlin, which raise questions about the significance of the individual history of personal grave goods.
